Imagine this. What if you heard news of an infantryman that died on the field of battle? Then you heard that he died because he was abandoned by his fellow soldiers. His brothers in arms left him to traverse the theater of war knowing he would fall. You would probably call those men cowards, traitors and other perjoratives as you seethed over their betrayal. You would seeth with disgust at how these so-called men of honor could perpetuate such a contemptible act. Now imagine that the war is spiritual. And the soldiers that have fallen are the men abandoned by a church that believes they should just “figure it out”. If the idea of a fellow soldiers lifeless body incenses you then ask yourself….why not his lifeless soul?
